YOU ARE NOT IN CONTROL
Our lives are under God’s control. When we give our lives to Christ, He rules and reigns over us. Our lives are in His hands. Far too many people believe they are in control of their destiny. It is God and God alone who has control of our lives. We plan, and then God rearranges our plans. The believer’s life is sealed, and sanctified by God Himself. The enemy cannot stop what God has planned for us. Oh, I know there are times when we think that we have it “all going on”, only to find that our plans have been interrupted. Our lives are not our own for we have been bought with a price. This new life in Christ has altered our lives. The scripture lesson for this devotion is Colossians 3:1.
“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.”
Here in this deep and profound passage of scripture, the writer indicates that those who have been raised in Christ need to have their minds and hearts on godly things. We are not to be preoccupied with the things of this earth. In fact, we are to live under the divine hand of God. In this chapter, he indicates that since God chose us to be holy people we must clothe ourselves with tenderness, mercy, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and patience. God must be at the center of our lives. We must be obedient to all God says He wants us to do. Our lives are not our own. It is the blood of Jesus Christ that placed us under God’s control. We don’t think the way we used to think, or act the way we used to act. Praise God today for this new and wonderful life in Christ. The love of God empowers us to live a victorious life that is surrendered unto Him.
