WORSHIP IN THE TEMPLE
I am writing this devotion on Tuesday, March 31st. We are in the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Consequently, we have not been able to worship in the sanctuary with the congregation. We are blessed to worship by Livestream and thank God for technology. As meaningful as it is, nothing takes the place of being in the House of God with the people of God. I pray that on this Wednesday, July 1st, we have been able to continue our worship in the sanctuary with God’s people. The beauty of entering into His House and honor God with our praises cannot be put into words. There is something about worshiping God in His Holy temple. I long for the time when God’s people say I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the House of the Lord. Today’s devotion speaks about worship in the temple, referencing Psalm 48:9.
“O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple.”
The psalmist praises God in the House of God. Throughout this psalm, the psalmist declares the greatness of the Lord. His heart is filled with gratitude. As the people gather for worship in the temple, offering hymns and praises unto God, the palmist indicates that the people have meditated on the steadfast love of God. Their thoughts are of His loving kindness and tender mercy. In verse 11, he writes, “Let the people on Mount Zion rejoice. Let all the towns of Judah be glad because of your justice.” It is my prayer that when you enter the sanctuary, you will enter with a heart of praise and gratitude, letting the Lord know beyond any doubt that you love to worship Him in the beauty of His holy place.
