WHO DO YOU TRUST?
Today’s devotion poses a question for every reader. Who do you trust? This question is one you and only you can answer. We must all examine our lives to see who we truly trust. What are our priorities? Who is first on the list? Do you put your trust in your job? Your finances? Your own wellbeing? Who is it that you trust? The scripture is clear: where your heart is, there you are also. Prayerfully, as you read this devotion, you will take the time to look into your whole life to see who you depend upon and trust. Psalm 20:7 is our scriptural reference.
“Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God.”
In this moving passage, the psalmist clearly states where he puts his trust. The psalmist says that some boast of chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord. He clearly states that none can boast in military might and equipment. The psalmist throughout this psalm foreshadows what happens when we trust in chariots and horses. Trust can only be placed in God’s hands. He speaks of the Lord’s assurance of victory and calls upon God to answer the people when they call. The psalmist knows he can rely on God and he believes in God’s power. He is safe and secure in God’s hands. In verse six, he writes that he knows the Lord will anoint and save him. It is my fervent prayer that without a doubt, you will trust in the Lord until you die. You will stay on the battlefield, for you know that the Lord is trustworthy, and you will not fear.
