WHEN GOD SAYS “NO”

There may be a time in our lives when we ask God for something, and the answer is “No.” How will we respond? We may ask Him to open doors, but He may seem to ignore us. We know that He can, but He may seem to not give us the answer that we want. We need to always remember that “No” is not to be seen as God turning His back on us. His “No” is His way of developing something in our lives turning His back on us. His ‘No’ is His way of developing something in our lives. In Acts 12:5, we find these words:

“But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.”

Here we see that Peter is in prison. Peter prayed not to go to prison, but he was sent anyway. That was his “No” from God. But as we saw in yesterday’s devotion, the persistent prayers of others paid off. Read this entire chapter when you get a chance. The angel of the Lord appeared to Peter, and his chains fell off. Ultimately, he received a “Yes” from the Lord. If you have never experienced God saying “No”, I am sure that day will come.  Prayerfully, when we experience it, we will remain steadfast and continue trusting Him, for only He knows the path we take.
