When God Blesses Others
For these last few days, the Spirit of the Lord has led me to write about God’s blessings. But it causes me concern when I see people of God become envious, jealous, or resentful when God blesses others instead of him or her. We sometimes become haters instead of encouragers. We need to always remember that as God has blessed others, He is also able to bless us. He never runs out of blessings. We should keep in mind that our blessings are on the way. In 1 Samuel 18:15, we find these words:
“When Saul recognized this, he became even more afraid of him.”
Read this entire story to understand the meaning. Saul was jealous of the blessings that David had received. Saul had slain 1,000 while David had slain 10,000, and for this Saul was angry. This is how some of us act, and that includes all of us — from the pulpit to the pew. It is my prayer today that we strive not to get upset when God blesses others. I give God thanks for what He has done for me and what He continues to do for others. As the song writer wrote, “It is no secret what God can do. What He’s done for others, He’ll do for you.”
