WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU?

I’ve written several devotions with titles that pose a question. I believe with all my heart that we all should take the opportunity to examine ourselves according to God’s standards. This is not based on how others look at us, or how we look at ourselves, but how God looks at us. What kind of people are we really? Some people may say that we are good, and others may compliment us by saying nice things about us.  Others may say some hurtful or negative things about us. But what does God say? He is the only one that really counts. Rest assured, if God is pleased, others will be blessed because we are carrying out His will and purpose in our lives. In 2 Peter 3:11, we find these words:

Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live.”

We are called to walk worthy of our calling (Ephesians 4:1) and to live lives that are pleasing unto God. Holy living is not an option, but a requirement. It is not based upon dress, but upon an inward and intimate relationship with God. We cannot take holy living lightly. It is who we are and what we must become. Ask yourself today, “Am I living a life that is pleasing unto God?” Prayerfully, the answer is “Yes.” If not, then ask God to turn your life around so that you might become the person that He wants you to be.
