WEARY AND WORN
Today’s devotion speaks to those who are weary and worn. I believe with all my heart that all of us will have a time in our lives when we will find ourselves exhausted. Life’s troubles will cause us to become weary and worn. Just in case you have different thoughts about it, just keep on living and you will find yourself literally wiped out! Troubles, trials and disappointments can do that. However, the good news is that we can call upon the Lord and He can renew our strength. He has given us a great invitation to come to Him for strength and refreshment to continue life’s journey. In today’s devotion, we see that invitation extended in Matthew 11:28 as we read these words:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus addresses those who labor, and find themselves heavy laden. They can find rest in Him. This is a marvelous invitation. All those who are burdened, the sad in heart, the lonely, the weak and weary, those who have been broken in bits and pieces can all find renewed strength. Do not overlook the fact that the invitation is given to all. All means everybody and anybody. That includes you and me. I pray that you have come to accept the invitation and that you are grateful that you can find rest in Him. I am a witness and I know that I am not alone. I look back over my life and see how many times the Lord has renewed my strength. Thank God today that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light .
