WEAK, YET STRONG
It is utterly amazing that we can be weak and strong at the same time. God has a way of using weakness to bless others. Our weakness does not define us because we are strong in the Lord. All of us have made mistakes, but God can use them for His glory. I have said before that God does not call perfect people. Everyone that God calls has weak areas in their lives. I know I am not a perfect pastor, nor do we have a perfect church. But we have a perfect God and that’s who we serve. So we cannot boast about anything other than the power of the Almighty God. When we place our hands and hearts in the will of God He can use us for His glory.
Our Scripture lesson, 2 Corinthians 11: 30, records these words:
“If I must boast, I would rather boast about the things that show how weak I am.”
The humble servant of the Lord recognizes his weakness, well aware of the strength that God has given him. He is not boasting about his human achievements but boasts of the goodness of the Lord. He has been tried and tested and has come through as pure gold. He faced danger, dealt with hardship, was abandoned by the people of God, and was beaten and abused. Yet he remained strong in the Lord, without complaining, acknowledging the power of God. The many trials only made him stronger. Prayerfully today, you are strong in the Lord and you only boast about him, recognizing your weakness.
