WEAK YET STRONG
Today’s devotion, “Weak Yet Strong”, sounds like a contradiction. How can we be weak and strong at the same time? It is only possible because when we are at our weakest is when God gives us strength to endure. He will not allow us to give into our weaknesses. We can ask God for the strength we need. As I write this devotion, I am well aware that we all have weaknesses in our lives. Sometimes our weaknesses do not allow us to remain strong, and we are tempted by the devil. But God’s power is stronger than any power Satan might try to overwhelm us with. In 2 Corinthians 12:10, we find these words:
“That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Paul, the humble servant of the Lord, was talking to the people of Corinth. He told them of his vision, which was a thorn in his side. Paul said three times he begged the Lord to take the thorn away, however the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” I have had some incredible experiences with the Lord whose strength came in my weakest moments. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, you will discover, the same as I, that His grace is sufficient. Prayerfully, you will also come to understand that in times of trouble, you may feel weak, but God is there with His strong power, to keep you from giving in to your weakness. Through Him we may be weak, yet we are strong indeed!
