On the first Sunday of this year, I preached from the subject “A People of Faith”. I argued then as I argue now the need for faith in our lives, because we walk by faith and not by sight. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. In that sermon I also talked about how to handle life’s trials, tribulations, burdens, and cares so they will not paralyze us. However, our faith in God will allow us to trust and obey Him. Always know God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. The scripture I used that Sunday is the same scripture I am using for this devotion. In Hebrew 11:6, we find these words:

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

Here the writer of this powerful verse says that faith pleases God. The author recorded that Enoch’s faith allowed him to trust in God and his faith pleased God. The writer goes on to say those who draw near to God would experience the power of God through their faith. Abraham, Noah, and a great cloud of witnesses had faith in God. It is my prayer that your name can be listed among those who walked by faith. May the faith we have in God not only draw us closer to Him, but also give us the assurance that God is able to bring us through any and every trial of life.
