WE ARE THE LORD’S PEOPLE
As I write this devotion, I mindful that I am a child of God. You are also one of God’s children; we are the Lord’s people. Because we are His people, we are blessed with His power and presence in our lives. We are truly gifted and anointed by Him, and He loves us unconditionally. As God’s people, we should not behave in a manner that would not please God. We should just not allow words to come from our mouths in anger. We should have love in hearts for one another, as God loves us, and that love should be evident every day. In Psalm 100:3, we find these words:
“Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.”
The psalmist acknowledges that we are the people of God. He begins this psalm with these words, “Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before Him, singing with joy.” He goes on to indicate that as His people, we are the sheep of His pasture. He says, “The Lord is good, His unfailing love continues forever.” The psalmist is clear that as God’s people, His love for us never ends. His faithfulness continues to each generation. Today, let us give thanks, as the psalmist did, and acknowledge that we are the Lord’s people. Let nothing hinder us from being like Him! Give Him thanks, and praise His name!
