WE ARE TEMPTED
I often speak about the Church Without Walls service as I write these devotions. If you have never joined us from 6:00 am to 7:00 am, I would like to invite you now. The number is: 1-667-770-1533; Participant Access Code 674854#; Press *6 to mute/unmute the line. It is an incredible experience. People have been honest, transparent and vulnerable in sharing their testimonies. Perhaps the reason this service is so meaningful is because the speaker cannot be seen, he/she can only be heard. Sometimes we can be self-righteous and judgmental towards each other. But the truth of the matter is we are all tempted at times, none of us is without sin. Remember Paul’s words in Romans 7:19 “I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.” In Hebrews 2:18, we find these words:
“Since He Himself has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested.”
Our merciful God can cleanse us from our sins andhelp us when we are tempted. Jesus also has the power and victory over Satan. The songwriter said, “Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin; each victory will help you some other to win.” Whenever we are tempted, all we must do is ask God to give us the strength to endure the test. His grace and His mercy will see us through.
