WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER
As believers, we need to always remember that we need one another. None of us can do anything on our own — God has knitted us together. I have said more than once, that even though I am the pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, unless the people of God join me, we can do nothing. God the weak and the strong and uses them for His glory. We pray for one another, encourage one another, and serve God together. That is the beauty of Fellowship — I need you and you need me, together we are family. We link together across racial lines, across economic lines, and even across political lines. We are one in Christ. I pray for you, you pray for me, and together we watch God change things! In Romans 12:15, we find these words:
“Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.”
The writer makes clear that we are joined together as we present ourselves as a living sacrifice to God. He will bless us as we live in harmony with each other. In the 16th verse, the writer goes on to say, “Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think that you know it all!” These are profound words. As a pastor, I need to be ready to help God’s people, and to always be able to bless them. But I cannot do it by myself. It takes the prayers of many. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, you will realize that we are in this together. May God be glorified, and the people of God be edified. Amen!
