WE ARE CALLED TO HELP EACH OTHER
It is so important that we, as a people of God, are willing to help one another. We are called to be kind, to be caring, to be a friend to the friendless, and to help those in need. We were not made to live alone; God has given us the opportunity to be a blessing to others. The songwriter said,” If I can help somebody along the way, then my living will not be in vain.” We should not spend all our time focusing on our own problems, but we should help someone else instead. In Proverbs 27:17, we find these words:
“As iron sharpens iron,so a friend sharpens a friend.”
The writer of these wise words provides wisdom on one’s ability to help others. Throughout this chapter, the writer gives clear instructions on how to live a fruitful life. Not only does he give instructions, but he also gives warnings. He knows full well the dangers that await those who do not carry out the Lord’s instructions. He speaks about the need to be connected to one another and uses the imagery of iron to provide sound advice. He also gives instructions on how to live a wholesome life by helping others. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, we are all committed to helping each other.
