God has chosen us as His very own. Make no mistake about it that we are called as
His chosen people, and as such, we have a loyalty to Him. We cannot live beneath the
riches God has given us; we have been bought with a price. Truly we are God’s gifts.
We can live victorious lives because Christ indeed saved us and redeemed us. This
matter of being a chosen people is crucial and critical to us. Due to our busy schedules,
we may find ourselves going in many different directions. Those who do not know
who they are may stumble and fall along the way, but thanks be unto God that we can
find our way and live according to His will because of Him. In first Peter, 2: 9, find these words:

“But you are not like that, for you are chosen people. You are royal priests, a
holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the
goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”

The writer indicates that we are God’s own possession, called out of darkness into His
wonderful light. What he is saying is that there was a time when we
had no identity and received no mercy, but when we become God’s
people and receive God’s mercies, we must walk in the blessings that
we have received. Prayerfully today, you are living up to your royalty
as a chosen vessel of God.
