I am sometimes amazed at how words keep cropping up. Yesterday our devotional scripture said give all your worries and cares to God. Today we see that word all again in this devotion. We all need correction. Countless people claim they need no correction. They have it all going on. They are saved, sanctified and full of the Holy Ghost. They do no wrong and need no correction. Really, none of us is perfect and we all need God’s correction. I have said before if you sit under the Word of God and never felt your shoes getting tight, something is wrong. If you have never felt that a preacher was coming down your street when he talked about correction, you are in denial. At our best, we all fall short of the glory of God. We thank God for the Word that corrects. Take inventory of your life today, before reading further. What areas do you need correction in your life? The scripture reference is Hebrews 12:11.

“No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.”

In this powerful chapter, the writer indicates that God’s discipline proves His love. If God does not discipline you as He does all of His children, you are not His child. Whom He disciplines, He loves, for it is good for us, so that we might share in His holiness. Although it is painful, it will produce a harvest of blessings after a while. Thank God for His discipline. He loves us so much that He corrects us when we are wrong. He does not want to see us go astray. Thank God, for how His unbelievable love for us is seen in the ways in which He disciplines us.
