Watch and Pray
During one of our morning prayer services, one of our former ministers asked the callers to lift up all men. I listened in awe as men and women called on the name of the Lord to cover men, including me. I was moved by the numerous prayers for me, some adding that I would have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Lord was saying to me. In Matthew 26:41, we find these words:
“’Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!’”
Matthew records how Jesus taught about the importance of watching and praying. The need to be vigilant is profound for there are many temptations, and the scriptures indicate that the “Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” Please read this . None of us are above falling into temptation. We have to always be on our guard for the devil is busy. Every time I read these words, I am reminded how much I need God. I want every decision and every choice I make to be in line with Him. I urge all of us to continue to watch and pray and let Jesus guide the way.
