WALKING WITH GOD
I am always impressed with the many walkers, joggers and runners that I see early in the morning. It is proven that those who exercise tend to live healthier lives. It is good for the heart as well as the mind. I would also add that the greatest blessing that we can ever experience is our walk with God. Those who walk for exercise have a limited time to walk, not just during the day, but also during their lifetime. When you get a certain age, you may not be able to walk as regularly or for as long as you did before. But walking with God is not based upon the days or the years. It’s for a lifetime. God rewards those who walk with Him. In Genesis 6:9, we find these words:
“This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.”
Noah finds grace with God because he believed the Word of the Lord. He followed the Lord’s commands and built the ark just as God told him. He even warned the people of the approaching destruction, but they refused to believe him. The earth was corrupt and filled with violence; however, God honored Noah because of his faithfulness. Prayerfully, our walk with God will be a witness to others of God’s goodness and His grace, the same as it was with Noah.
