WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

It is imperative as God’s people that we live in the Spirit. Living in the Spirit means that we are led by, and walk in, the Spirit. We are well aware of God’s presence, so consequently, we do not try to walk ahead of Him; we simply walk in His will and His way. We should pray daily that we walk according to God’s will. When we do that, we cannot go astray nor find ourselves doing and saying things outside of His will. I remember a song where the words were simply, “Let me walk in the Spirit.” How profound those words are! There is scripture found in 1 Corinthians 12:7 that speaks of walking in the Spirit:

“A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.”

Paul clarifies here the different spiritual gifts. He emphasizes the nine different gifts and calls upon the readers to work and walk in the Spirit of the Lord. Paul explains that the source of these gifts is God, and that each gift is given in the manifestation of the Spirit for His good. Paul indicates that our lives will bear witness that we have been given power from on high. We are one body in Christ, and we are all free to drink and to walk in the Spirit. Read this entire chapter and you will see the virtues and qualities of one who is walking in the Spirit. Hopefully, after reading this chapter you will be able to say, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that you are walking in the Spirit.
