WALK WITH GOD
Today’s devotion speaks of the need to walk with God. As our lights shine bright, we walk with the Lord each step of the way. God has given us a path to follow. We are called to follow it. We are not called to deviate from the path nor try to look for shortcuts. We are to walk with the Lord every step of the way. Yes, there will be detours and obstacles but we know that “straight is the gate and narrow is the way.” We must be willing to walk where the Lord leads us. Isaiah 30:21 that speaks about walking with the Lord:
“Your own ears will hear Him. Right behind you a voice will say, ‘This is the way you should go, whether to the right or to the left.’”
We are invited to walk with the Lord in this passage. We are instructed to seek His guidance and direction. It requires hearing and then responding. Isaiah writes that when you hear the Word, walk in it. Throughout this chapter, the writer speaks of the power of God even in the midst of adversity. He indicates that the Lord knows best and in His own time, He will bring deliverance. Consequently, we ought to follow Him and not go our own way. We are to trust where He leads for He knows the way. I do not know why, but on the last several days as I write these devotions, I close out with a song. “Walk with me Lord.” I pray today that as I walk with Him, He will walk with me.
