As a people of God, we need to have the strength and patience to wait on the Lord. We cannot hurry God nor can we jump ahead of God. God will come in His own time to rescue us. We must just call Him, depend on Him, and never tire of waiting on Him. We know that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. I would argue at times that waiting becomes difficult, particularly when you are going through trials. It seems that God will never show up, but just keep on waiting. Today’s scripture reference gives us new insight as to how we ought to wait on God. It is found in Psalm 6:4.

“Return, O Lord, and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love.”

The psalmist is confident that the Lord has heard his prayer. He has cried out unto the Lord and waits upon Him to come to his rescue. His enemies still surround him, but he does not lose his faith and trust in God. At one point, he cries out “How long will it take for you to restore me, oh Lord.” Nevertheless, for all his troubles, he continues to trust in the Lord. He cried throughout the night. His tears flowed like rivers of water. Yet, he never wavered or gave up on God. What a powerful testimony! God will come just in time. All we need to do is wait. Trust Him. He will not fail. So, whatever you are going through right now, wait on the Lord and be of good courage. He shall bless you in due time.
