WAIT ON GOD

Today’s devotion speaks about the need to wait on the Lord. We have heard these words many times before. We know that there are blessings for those who wait on the Lord, because the word is clear.  In Isaiah 40:31, we find these words, “…those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.” But there are times when waiting can become challenging. It’s easy to say that we can wait on the Lord when things are going well, but when we are faced with one hardship after another, and there seems to be no end in sight, waiting can become difficult. But as the people of God, waiting on God is not something we should simply say, but rather something we must do.  Our faith must be strong, and we must not get weary in waiting on God. In Lamentation 3:25, we find these words:

“The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him.”

The writer declares that God’s faithful love never ends. He says in verse 22, “His mercies never cease.” He goes on to praise God in verse 23 saying, “Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.” All the author is simply saying is “wait on God.” He makes it clear that the Lord will hear those who call on Him and He will answer them. May we all have the strength to wait on the Lord.
