What a wonderful way to live, knowing that you can be victorious because of God’s grace and mercy! Those who have accepted Jesus Christ, and have confessed and repented of their sins are able to live a victorious life. They recognize that God’s amazing grace saved them. Those believers are confident that sin no longer enslaves them, and that their past has been forgiven. God has made their lives brand new. What a wonderful way to live! No longer do we need to walk in darkness or feel defeated. We have the victory through Christ Jesus. People may remind us of what we did or did not do, but Christ by His grace has set us free. Whom God sets free is free indeed. The scripture reference for today is Romans 6:18.

“Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.”

In this moving passage of scripture, Paul, the humble servant of the Lord writes that sin’s power is broken. No longer does sin have power over us. In chapter six, Paul writes that God’s grace has set us free from the Law. Sin once had us enslaved, but now the people of God can live a victorious life. This victorious life grants us the obligation to do what is right and honorable unto God. Always remember that we have not been given this victorious life by works, but by God’s grace and mercy. That ought to cause every reader to shout that God has set us free.
