As I was writing this devotion, I was thinking of a song, “Victory in Jesus.” I know I cannot sing, but I do know that there is victory in Jesus. I know that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. I do know that in all our ways if we acknowledge Him He shall direct our paths. I do know that we serve a victorious loving and faithful Lord. Prayerfully, you know the victory that comes when you give your life to Him and you know that nothing can separate us from the love of God. That ought to give you a reason to shout. Before you read further, take a moment and look at the victories the Lord has given to you.  Praise Him and thank Him. This is not just a song; this is a testimony. Look where the Lord has brought us. The scripture reference for this devotion is Ephesians 2:5 and reads in this manner.

“That even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)”

In this moving passage, Paul writes these words that ring with truth. We were dead in our sins when the grace of God saved us. This is the essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for the wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. A free gift of grace. The ground of our redemption lies wholly in the mercy and love of the God who forgives our transgressions and sins. Sin no longer has power over us. Christ has won the victory by the shedding of His blood on Calvary. We have been redeemed and can live a victorious life. Whom God sets free is free indeed. No one can remind us of our past sins, for they have been forgiven. Thank God that Jesus gave us victory and we are victorious.
