One of the rich gifts He has given to us is Wisdom. We need to use this gift like all gifts, wisely. Wisdom grants us discernment and allows us to make sound judgments. We cannot abuse or misuse our gifts. They must be used to God’s glory. Nor should we flaunt our gifts. Wisdom directs us how to speak and when to speak. It shows us how to be still and listen to the voice of God so that every decision we make is grounded in the Lord. Today’s scripture reference is Proverbs 8:12 and reads in this manner.

“I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment.  I know where to discover knowledge and discernment.”

The writer of this wisdom literature clearly speaks of the need to honor God as we seek knowledge rather than gold. He writes that those who fear the Lord will despise evil and not engage in arrogance and pride. They will have insight and know what to do and how to do it. When you can, read Chapter 8. It will help you as you use gifts that He has given, in ways that please Him. Be wise in your decisions and judgments. You will search for the Lord and you will find Him. Thank God, for the precious gifts that He has entrusted in our care.
