TRY THE LORD
This year, I have asked members of our congregation to win a soul for Christ. I encourage them to reach out to family members and friends and invite them to try the Lord. Many people do not trust the Lord. As believers, we testify that you can trust and depend on God. When shared, our experiences let others know that God will make a way out of no way. Someone said, “I tried Him and found Him to be true to His Word.” I invite each reader to ask someone to try the Lord. Now, you cannot invite someone to try Him if you have not. But, if you know that, you know that you know Him, you can let others know that they can count on Him. Today’s scripture reference in Psalm 34:8.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!”
The psalmist gives and invitation to taste and see the goodness of the Lord. He has a personal experience for he begins the psalm by saying “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will continually be in my mouth.” He writes that he saw the Lord and the Lord delivered him from all his fears. He is a witness and invites others to come to know his loving God. Taste! Experience the blessings of the Lord. He cannot keep this to himself and wants others to taste the Lord’s goodness. The psalmist sought the Lord and found Him to be loving and kind. I pray that you will share what God has done for you and invite someone else to experience the love of God. I close with these words: “it is no secret as to what the Lord will do. What He has done for others, He will do for you too.”
