Trusting in the Lord
I am sure that there are times in our lives when we become exhausted and feel like quitting. This is especially true when we have tried to help someone; however, our efforts were not received with a “thank you.” We may say to ourselves, “What’s the use if we are not appreciated?” But we must remember that whether we are appreciated or not, we can never stop trusting and serving the Lord. This is true in every phase and facet of life: our trust must always be in Him. Pastor Waller once preached a sermon titled, “What Are You Going to Do About It?” He said that life can turn and cause us to be weary and almost give up, but we must hang in there. Instead of quitting, we need to move forward. In Galatians 6:9, we find these words:
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
Paul’s expectation of an eternal harvest came from his own experience of trusting in God. Paul knew it was possible to become weary and worn, but he also knew, in due season, the blessing that would come. He tells the people to keep doing good, especially to the household of faith. When you get a chance read this chapter. He instructs the people to remain focused and to trust in God. May we all be strengthened today, and may we forever trust in Him.
