As believers, we must be willing to trust God completely. We must not be half-hearted in our trust in Him, but our willingness to trust Him first. In far too many cases, instead of turning to God first, we turn in another direction. Consequently, we just add to our troubles. When we allow ourselves to lean and depend on the Lord, we discover the blessings that come from His almighty hand. No one can do for us what God is able to do. Today’s devotion centers on the need to trust God completely. Our scripture reference is found in Psalm 62:5 and reads in this manner:

“Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from Him.”

The psalmist shares words of quiet trust. He indicates His confidence in the Lord. His soul waits in silence. He realizes that God is his rock and refuge. From his personal experience, the psalmist has come to realize the power of God. He calls upon the people to pour out their hearts to Him. Read this psalm in its entirety. Prayerfully, if you have not trusted Him completely, eventually you will be compelled to acknowledge Him as first in your life.
