True Worship
Someone recently sent me a CD with the message “Authentic Worship.” As I thought about those words, I could not help but think about the need for our worship to be real and true. We cannot copy another’s worship style, but we must worship from a heart of genuine praise. In John 4:23 we find these words:
“But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers
will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way.”
Jesus gives a clear description of true worship saying, in the 24th verse, “God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” Our willingness to be open to His speaking to us opens us to engage in the beauty of worship. Prayerfully, whether we are worshiping corporately or privately, we recognize that it is sacred and our worship is expressed from the depths of our hearts. May our heart always be open to Him and may He always be pleased with our worship.
