It is so important that we think Godly thoughts. Our thoughts must always be centered around honoring God. Think about things that please Him. As you think about it, act on it. Allow God to be on your mind as well as in your heart. God is pleased when we give our lives to Him. God is pleased when we strive for justice, love, and mercy, and walk humbly with Him. God is pleased when we love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We can be an example for others by actually living the life that pleases God. In Philippians 4:8,we find these words:

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

In this deep and moving passage of scripture, the writer provides instructions for public worship. He is grateful to the people who always kept him in their thoughts and prayers, as well as for those who follow his teaching. He tells them to remain steadfast in how they live and talk so that they can be an example for others by the way they conduct themselves. He prays that somehow, he has been an example for them by the way he has lived, and not just merely by his teaching. We should all strive to be more Christ-like, by trying to model more of Christ’s behaviors in our everyday lives. We must remember to think Godly thoughts each and every day, for this is how we will please the Lord.
