THERE IS PLENTY OF WORK TO DO

In Matthew 9:37, we find these words: “The harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few.” There is plenty of work to do for the Lord — lives need to be saved and hearts need to be changed. We are living in a world where we see violence, racism, and hate, every day. There is plenty of work for the people of God to do, but it’s a large job; no one person can do it alone. God needs workers who are able to work together for His glory, sharing the glad and good news. Workers are needed. In I Corinthians 3:8, we find these words:

“The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work.”

In this chapter, we find the comparison of Paul to Apollos. Neither of them took credit for the work they had done. They were simply servants who God used to bring the good news — one planted the seed and the other watered it. It is not important for us to know who did the planting and who did the watering. What is important is that they worked together so that the seed would grow. And because of this, God blessed them. There is plenty of work to do. Prayerfully, we are all striving to work together to do the work of the Lord.
