There Is No Need to be Afraid

As believers, there is nothing for us to fear, for the Word of God is clear in Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) that “no weapon formed against (us) shall prosper…” It is my fervent prayer that whenever we are faced with trials, troubles, or burdens, we will remain strong.  When the enemy comes against us we will remember that we have the Lord on our side, “for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of a sound mind ” (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV). In Hebrews 13:6, we find these words:

“So we can say with confidence, ’The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?’”

The writer offers practical instructions for Christian living.   Believers are called to take heart and have courage.  Their faith and trust must always be in God.  They must boldly proclaim that the Lord is their helper, their keeper, and their deliverer.  The time of trouble will come, but they are not to become weary or lose hope.  What wonderful words of encouragement for us today.  We have nothing to fear.  As Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, “there is nothing to fear but fear itself.”  Those of us who have faith do not have to be afraid, for our faith is in the Lord!
