THE WORD IS NEAR YOU
Thank God for His Word! The Word of God is a source of strength in times of need, and the word is near — all we have to do is read it and apply it to our lives. We must be willing to follow the Lord’s direction and discernment to keep the word in our hearts. That is all that is required to take advantage of the words from on High. In Deuteronomy 30:14, we find these words:
No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it.
The writer of these words makes it clear that the message is close at hand. All we must do is follow the word. In verse 15, we find that the message is made even clearer because the writer says, “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster.” We have a choice. We can follow the word and choose life, or we can turn away, refuse to listen, and ultimately choose death. In other words, we have a choice between blessings or curses. When you get a chance, read this entire passage of scripture. It gives us advice on how to live. We must read the word, keep it in our hearts, and apply it to our lives. That is all that is required! Thank God for His Word!
