THE WHOLE EARTH IS FULL OF HIS GLORY
There is a song in our hymnal on page 1, “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty.” The words are wonderful and speak to our heart, mind and soul for the Lord is holy. The whole earth is full of His glory. We might not acknowledge His Glory and we might deny it, but it remains true that the heavens and earth are full of His glory. This gives us reason to praise Him. In fact, before you read further, take a moment and know that His glory is covering you now. There is nowhere for you to go and not find His glory. As you stand in His glory, acknowledge His divine presence. You can make your bed in hell, and He is still there. How we respond to His glory is altogether another story. Our devotion for today is Isaiah 6:3 and speaks of His glory:
“They were calling out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with His glory!”
In this moving passage, the three-fold repetition of Holy is for the emphasis. Holiness is an essential quality of deity. God created it. He is the King of glory. In the previous chapter, we read of this call to God. In this amazing scripture, Isaiah becomes confident of himself and his surroundings. He acknowledges that he is a man of unclean lips that dwells in the midst of people with unclean lips. He stands before God and acknowledges his sin. Whenever we are in God’s presence, we ought to be able to acknowledge our sins and know that we stand on Holy Ground. I pray fervently that you will acknowledges God’s holiness and acknowledge your sins before Him. Know that beyond a shadow of a doubt that His love for you will grant forgiveness to you and His unconditional love.
