I believe that there is a vast difference between wisdom and knowledge. One may have knowledge about subjects such history, economics, and a multitude of others, but this does not compare to wisdom. Wisdom is a gift from God. Wisdom allows us to have discernment to make the right choices and the right decisions. Wisdom helps us understand the difference between good and evil. Wisdom also helps us to make friends with those who encourage us and help us. In Proverbs 19:11, we find these words:

“Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs.”

The writer speaks about wisdom that gives us a forgiving spirit, as well as  the ability to defer anger.
In verse 10 he says, “it isn’t right for a fool to live in luxury.” In order to promote wisdom throughout the land, anyone who did not believe that their riches came from God was to be considered a fool and should be punished.  I pray today that we will always seek wisdom. Wisdom guides our tongues, our actions, and our thoughts.  Whatever we do in life, we need to make sure that it is guided by God. Our lives, and the lives of everyone around us, will be blessed.
