THE TRUTH OF DESTINY
Someone said, “No test, no testimony.” We learn so much about ourselves and about God during the test. Our testing produces our faith, our character, and our integrity. I continually say that every believer ought to have a frame of reference, meaning that many of us have been tested before. There may have been some bruises along the way, but many of us would not have had our walk with God,were it not for those tests that were in our lives. We should never forget from where the Lord has brought us. The scripture for today, Deuteronomy 8:2, is about learning from the past and the importance of remembrance:
“Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.”
We remember the historical emphasis of the wilderness experience that Israelites went through. God was present in their difficult times, however, he humbled the people to show them what was in their hearts. Their testing would show them that they need to depend on Him. When you get a chance read this chapter, then look at your own life. Our identity is revealed through our test. Prayerfully, you will discover your true self as well as the power of God in your life.
