As I write this devotion, I am fully aware of how God blesses us with wonderful gifts. Every good and perfect gift comes from God. To be honest this morning, some gifts we have received from others, we have rejected. I know that’s true! Just think about the gifts you received for Christmas, and I am sure that some of those gifts have been returned. However, you cannot return God’s gifts. They are p erfect and they meet the needs of all His people. I have said on more than one occasion that we love the Giver of the gift, more than the gift. The scripture reference for this devotion can be found in James 1:17:

“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”

James is clear: every good and perfect gift comes from God. God gives perfect gifts to His children who are recipients of His true word. We are God’s prize possessions. He loves us with an everlasting love. His love for us is pure and we can count on Him to supply our every need. Thank God today that we are children of God and we have been given His wonderful gift of eternal life. Take the time today to thank God for the precious gift granted unto us.
