THE PATH OF LIFE
We need to walk in the path of light that God has prepared for believers. We cannot deviate or choose to go another path. He knows the way we take and we must walk in His will. There is much joy in the path of God. There is peace and fulfillment. One of the sad commentaries is that too many people take the wrong path leading to self-destruction. For some reason, they would rather go their own way, and not God’s way. The psalmist writes of the path of life in Psalm 16:11:
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
In this psalm, we speak of the psalmist’s glad heart. He is grateful for the path of life. The theme of this entire psalm might as well be the journey in life: God ahead, the psalmist’s soul behind, willing to follow God. He speaks of the pleasures that God provides when he sets the Lord before Him. The psalmist realizes that God is his shield and strength. His body is also secure. He places his heart in God’s hand. It is my prayer today that you place your heart in the hand of God and have chosen the path of life. Thank God that where He leads, I will follow. I pray that you will do this as well.
