THE MASTER BUILDER
It is so important that our homes are built on solid rock; that rock is Christ Jesus. No matter where we live or how elaborate our home may be, unless the house is built on solid rock, it will not survive. It is my fervent prayer that you have come to know the Master Builder. I pray that our homes are built on a firm foundation, so that when the winds of trouble blow, and they will, our houses will stand. When all around us is sinking, we can rest on the promise that God will never leave us. I shared the story before about one of our faithful members who was building a home. She had the builder place a family Bible in the foundation of that home. The Bible represented her family’s faith and trust in God. I am grateful that this family knows how to depend upon the Lord. I would argue that there is a vast difference between a house
and a home. A home is where love resides. When we build our home on the Master Builder’s plans, we will be blessed beyond measure. In Psalm 127:1, we find these words:
Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted.
The psalmist indicates that unless the Lord is the foundation of the home it will not last. The psalmist goes on to say in verse 2, “It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to His loved ones.” God makes all things possible for those who put their trust in Him. We can rest at night knowing that we can turn all of our cares and worries over to Him. When you get a chance, read this entire Psalm. We must all ensure that our homes are standing on a firm foundation — one that is built by the Master Builder.
