THE LORD WILL FORGIVE OUR SINS

Thanks be unto God that the Lord will forgive our sins. This is reason for us to rejoice because we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We all need God’s forgiveness. We need forgiveness of all our sins, not just for those prior to our coming to Christ, but also for those after we came to Christ. The word “all” means, “the whole quantity of a particular group or thing.” That is what we need — His forgiveness of all our sins. None of us are without sin. I stand in need of God’s forgiveness just as much as each of you. Thanks be to God that He continues to forgive us, over and over again. In Micah 7:19, we find these words:

“Once again you have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!”

The author makes clear that God will pardon our guilt and shame. There is no other God like Him. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter to understand the compassion and protection that He showed the people of Israel. He told them, “I forgive them, I love them, I provide
for them.” The same way that He provided for the people of Israel is the same way that He provides for us today. The Lord will forgive our sins; His compassion will never end.
