Thanks be unto God today that the Lord is our strength. We have no strength of our own; yet the strength God gives is more than adequate to meet all our needs. We serve a powerful God who is all-sufficient, all knowing and all wise! His strength is made available to us. That ought to cause us to shout, realizing that our own strength gives way. We can draw upon His strength. His Word is clear: they that wait will be renewed. Our scripture reference for this devotion is found in Habakkuk 3:19 and reads in this manner:

“‘The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.”

In this passage, the prophet Habakkuk makes clear as to where his strength comes from. He offers a testimony to the power of God. He is assured that the God whom he serves brings joy. His song expresses that God has blessed him in his life and he offers God praise and gratitude. Read this entire chapter and feel the gratitude that Habakkuk offers because of the strength the lord has offered to him. Take the time today to thank God for the strength He has given to you. Look back over the difficult times in your life and see how God has carried you. When you were weak and worn, His mighty hand lifted you. His strong arms held you and now you have the opportunity to share your journey with others so that they will know that the Lord is our strength!
