The Lord Hears
As we talk to God, know that He hears and answers our prayers. Very often, we pray in a monologue instead of a dialogue. We miss” hearing” from the Lord, because our prayer is usually us talking — most often we talk but we do not listen. Listening is as important as talking. In Malachi 3:16, we find these words:
“Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In His presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared Him and always thought about the honor of His name.”
Before we proceed, I need to take time to hear from God as I write these words. I’m still waiting for God to speak so that I might pen the words for this devotion today. Similarly, the spirit of the Lord spoke to Malachi. The text reveals that God is aware of the difficulties of the people even though He does not act immediately to answer their prayers. But He does hear His people. He is not deaf. Not only does He hear, but He also cares. He lets the people know that their day of healing and deliverance will come. He hears them as they cry out. Thank God today that He always hears us. None of our prayers ever go without getting the full intention of the Lord. Just keep praying, and, most importantly, keep listening.
