THE LORD HAS OUR BACKS
Thanks be unto God that the Lord has our backs! No weapon formed against us shall prosper. God is there to guide us every step of the way! He will make our enemies our footstools. But just as God has our backs, we must also care for one another. When we receive calls to be concerned about our brother or sister to go care for them, we must be there for them. This is not an option; this is a mandate. We cannot say that we love God whom we have not seen, yet not love our brothers and sisters whom we can see. We need to care about our brothers and sisters and let them know that we have their backs the same way that God has ours. In Galatians 6:2, we find these words:
“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”
The writer indicates that we should be concerned about our brothers and sisters. He begins this chapter by saying, “Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back on the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.” He goes on to say, “If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.” We all need one another. The Word says, “Those who are taught the Word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.” He emphasized the need for us to have each other’s back. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, we will come to understand that the Lord has our back, and we must love one another in that same way.
