God has given us power to overcome the forces of evil. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. As a people of God, we are not weak or frail when it comes to dealing with our foes. God has given us authority over them; we just need to walk in our power. The power that God has given to us is not like the world’s power for it is divine power. The scripture reference for this devotion is Luke 10:19. The verse reads in his manner.

“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.”

In this passage, Jesus speaks of the power over the enemy that He has given to His people. They can walk amongst creatures and crush them. He reminds His servants and disciples that those who rejected them rejected both them and Jesus the Christ. The disciples reported to the Master, their astonishment that even the demons obeyed them when they used the mighty name of Jesus. At the name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that He is Lord. There is power in His Name. When you face the enemy just call on that name and draw on the power He has given to you. Do not panic; just stand still and see the glory of the Lord. I know about that power. It is that power that has sustained me. I know that I am not alone for countless people can declare that the Lord has given us power. May we use it for His glory!
