The Key To Prosperity
I would argue strongly that we spend too much time looking for prosperity in the wrong ways. A lot of the prosperity preaching and teaching focuses on material blessings. Let me put a disclaimer here: God does bless us with prosperity and material things. I know that for myself, and I am grateful. However, that should not be our motivation for serving Him. If we only consider material things, we miss other blessings from God. The key lies in seeking God wholeheartedly. In 2 Chronicles 31:21, we find these words:
“In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.”
When we put our hearts and minds toward God’s work, we will prosper. When we serve God wholeheartedly, He will bless us beyond measure. Look at His Word. We find Hezekiah faithfully honoring God by doing what was good and righteous. God blessed the work of his heart. Read this entire chapter when you get a chance. Understand that material blessings of the world cannot compare to the blessings of prosperity that we receive from God. I remember the secular song, “Looking for love in all the wrong places.” How true that is with prosperity. Worldly material blessings will soon decay, but true prosperity – joy, peace and fulfillment – last for eternity.
