The Judgment Seat

We must be careful about judging others. We must always remember that God is the final judge. We all will have to stand before Him and give an account of our lives. When that time comes, and it will, pray that God will grant us mercy. When we recognize that God will also judge us, it should soften our hearts as we look at others. The same mercy that He gives to us, we should be willing to give to others. In 2 Corinthians 5:10, we find these words:

“For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.”

Paul explains that we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ. At times, Paul expresses that it is God who will judge; yet, in this verse, Paul writes that it is Christ who will judge. God judges us through Christ in a certain and final judgment. We are responsible to God and He will hold our hearts and intentions accountable for what we did or did not do. Rather than condemn, He convicts us of sin that we might run towards Him. Prepare now for judgment and for the life to come.
