God’s love is truly amazing. There is no love like His love. His love is the greatest: Nothing can be compared to His love. He loved us before we first loved Him. His love is unconditional. His love never changes. When we sin, He still loves us. When we fall down, He still loves us. When we are unlovable, He still loves us. God is truly amazing! Who can love us like that? If we were honest, most people love us only if we love them. Some do not even do this! But God loves us with the highest level of love, possible. Our scripture lesson is from John 15:13:

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Jesus, the master teacher, speaks about true love in this chapter. He indicates He is the true vine and we are the branches, without Him we could do nothing. He says in this chapter, “You are my friends if you do what I command.” He wants them to remain in His love. Listen to these words, “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.” His instruction is clear: “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.”  Jesus demonstrates the importance of love and his self-sacrifice. It is extended to us and we extend it to the world. Never feel that you are without love. God’s love is always there, and I do mean “always.” The songwriter said, “Love lifted me!” I cannot sing but I know that God’s love lifted me, and it will lift you! Thank God today for the great love we have received.
