We commonly say, “God is good,” but truly, God is more than good. We are right to praise Him for his kindness, love, and tender mercy. He woke us up this morning and allowed us to see a brand-new day. Morning by morning, new mercies are ours to see. Yes, this is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Our scripture lesson for this devotion is found in Romans 15:14 and it reads in this manner:

“I am fully convinced, my dear brothers and sisters, that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well you can teach each other all about them.”

In this chapter, James is writing to the people of God that they might live lives pleasing to God. They have been filled with God’s goodness and they are to teach others_, the goodness of God. He is reminding them not to live to please people, but to please God. He wants them to accept others as God has accepted them. God accepted them out of His deep love for them, and they are to love others in the same way. He prays that God will fill them with joy and peace, out of His abundant love. This is my prayer today, that God is filling you with His goodness. This way, you will share that with others by loving them, forgiving them, and supplying them with the knowledge that God is great and greatly to be praised.
