We hear much said about the good life. How does one define the good life? Is it measured by worldly pleasures? Is it measured by success and fame? What is your definition of the good life? I hear people say often, “I’m living a good life.” It is important that we know the meaning of a good life. We spend so much time trying to obtain the good life. It is important that we know what we are searching for. God is the Giver of the good life. How we spend our time pursuing the good life can be found in seeking God. Today’s scripture reference is Philippians 2:13.

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.”

Paul the humble servant of the Lord speaks of God working in His people to give them the desires to do everything that will honor Him. Do everything without complaining or arguing. Shine brightly for Christ. Work hard for the result of your salvation. Obey God with deep reverence. Life is made beautiful as you honor and serve Him. Paul knew of the good life. His previous life while on the Road to Damascus was everything but good. But the Lord changed his life. Paul was blessed with a life that was full and complete, even though he suffered for the sake of Christ. He knew his life had purpose and power. Prayerfully, your life has purpose and power, and you are, indeed living a good and wonderful life in Christ.
