Monday’s devotion, Live the Good Life speaks of a life pleasing unto God. Today’s follow-up reminds us that we often mistake what a good life really is. To some, it means to eat, drink and be merry. However, by God’s grace and mercy, He offers the good life when we make Him the center of our lives. He does not force His will upon us but gives us free choice. We can choose to live the good life that glorifies God as we experience abundant joy when following our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Proverbs 8:17 is our scripture lesson today.

 “I love all who love Me. Those who search will surely find Me.”

In this profound passage, the writer of this wisdom literature clearly indicates that those who seek God will find Him. God’s love is extended to all who love Him and who constantly seek Him. Those who make Him their life’s choice will reap a harvest of blessings. The writer begins chapter eight saying, “Listen as Wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice!” Wisdom allows us to hear the voice of God and to follow His voice. Many voices compete for our attention. Instead of making the wrong choice, we must listen with our ears and hearts and make Jesus the choice of our lives. I am glad I can say that I have chosen to make the choice to follow the Lord, which enables me to live the good life.
